Experience the delicate beauty of traditional Japanese craftsmanship with this elegant single-flower vase (ichirin-zashi). Handcrafted by Zenrinbo, this piece showcases the distinctive techniques of Suruga Sensuji Takezaiku (Suruga fine bamboo craft) from Shizuoka, utilizing round bamboo splints and precise heat-bending methods.

Exquisite Craftsmanship

Using heat to carefully curve fine 1.1 mm bamboo splints (takehigo), the artisan weaves them into a double-cross pattern. This meticulous process forms a slender silhouette reminiscent of a traditional Japanese sake bottle (tokkuri). The upper and lower rings are drilled with complex, angled holes to guide the splints, requiring immense precision. Finished in a sophisticated semi-gloss black, this compact vase brings a strong, modern presence to any space.

Unique Contrast Base

The vase is paired with a matching square bamboo stand finished with a striking red leather surface. This bold contrast of black bamboo and red leather creates a contemporary “Japanese Modern” aesthetic, perfect for tea ceremonies, entryways, or minimalist alcoves.
