$93
An elegant, hand-crafted Japanese bamboo flower vase from Shizuoka, styled after rustic countryside straw bundles and made using traditional Suruga round bamboo strip techniques.
Description
Embodying the seasonal beauty of Japanese craftsmanship, this exquisite flower vase is handmade using traditional Suruga Bamboo Craft techniques. This regional heritage craft is celebrated for utilizing delicate, flexible round bamboo strips (maru-takehigo) to create airy, elegant structures.
Design & Craftsmanship
Designed under the concept of Warakake, this vase resembles the rustic, bundled rice straw often seen drying in the Japanese countryside. It features 1.4 mm round bamboo strips bundled together with minimalist elegance. The base of the vase showcases a detailed combination of nankin-ami (Nanjing weaving) and ajiro-ami (herringbone/wicker weaving) to provide structure and aesthetic detail. An inner synthetic resin water cylinder (otoshi) is included to hold water and support your floral arrangements.
