This elegant, modern Kamidana (household Shinto altar) is handcrafted by the master artisans of Zenrinbo, specializing in Suruga Take Sensuji Zaiku (traditional Shizuoka bamboo crafts). Combining delicate round bamboo sticks (maru-takehigo) with a natural Japanese cedar (Sugi) base, this compact piece offers a contemporary way to display Ofuda (sacred Shinto talismans) in modern homes.
Exquisite Cloud Detail and Design
The back of the altar features 56 finely shaved 1.3mm bamboo sticks, offering a lightweight yet sturdy frame. The front is adorned with a delicate bamboo “cloud” (Kumo) motif, a traditional Shinto symbol placed above the talisman to signify an open sky, expressing respect for the deities when mounted in rooms with ceilings or upper floors.
